FLATWORK/ELEVATED SLABS

SCC’s proficiency in pouring and finishing concrete in addition to our ability to achieve flat and super flat floors allows our projects to meet the most stringent specifications and timelines.

Known as flatwork specialists SCC pours an average of 1.5 million square feet of concrete a year which is more than any other concrete contractor in the Tri-State area.

Advanced Machinery

Whether it’s a simple ten thousand square foot parking lot or twenty acres of exterior paving SCC utilizes their Screeds efficiently. Using a laser guided control system, the Somero S-22 Screed can strike off concrete to a specific elevation grade. A Somero 3-D Profiler System is used with the Screed to read the terrain and accurately place concrete over multi-dimensional contoured sites such as parking lots, loading dock areas, service ramps, and access drives. SCC’s proficiency with pouring and finishing concrete in addition to our ability to achieve flat and super flat floors using the most up-to-date equipment allows our projects to meet any specified Ff/Fl number.

SCC recently built a patent-pending texture and cure machine to broom and cure large exterior slabs. Using both the texture cure machine and the laser screed allows us to move through large exterior pours quickly and efficiently. This systematic approach provides our customers with a preferable concrete product at a comparable asphalt price.

SCC takes flatwork to another level when constructing elevated slabs. Maintaining the same precision and accuracy of ground flatwork an elevated slab process involves shoring the underside of the slab, forming the slab in place, pouring the slab, and removing the shoring once the slab has cured. This process creates the floors and ceilings of a multi-story office complex, medical building, or parking structure.
